No nonsense steps to a better planet

At No nonsense, we take steps to a better world every day. We make and sell 95% of our No nonsense legwear products in the USA, which greatly reduces emissions and oil consumption versus imported goods. We take pride in our eco-conscious facilities. What makes us eco-conscious? Just to give you an idea of what we are doing:

• Almost 90% of all waste in our plants is recycled! This includes yarn bobbins, cardboard boxes and even yarn waste such as clippings from sock toe seams.
• We are replacing inefficient incandescent lighting with newer, more efficient technologies and using skylights and windows to provide natural lighting and reduce the demand of energy.
• We use manufacturing cases that can be reused up to six times instead of just once for select sheer items. We have established “Green Teams” in all of our facilities to continuously review waste and determine new and improved ways to recycle or reduce.
• We use 100% clean, recycled water in our dyehouse.
• 80% -85% of our dyes are certified organic according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)
  • GOTS certified materials meet set limits of biodegradability and have no adverse affect on environment

We also strive to make our packaging as eco-conscious as possible. We use water-based coatings on our pantyhose and sock packages, instead of petroleum-based coatings. We also use soy inks made with U.S. grown soybeans. When making our packaging, we design it to be as small as possible and we use recycled content where we can. In fact:

• Almost 90% of all waste in our plants is recycled! This includes yarn bobbins, cardboard boxes and even yarn waste such as clippings from sock toe seams.

• Package hangtags are made with 100% recycled content.
• Adhesive bands are made of 60% recycled content.
• Our clear pouches are biodegradable and made with 10% recycled content.
• Our printed bags are made with 51% recycled content
• Using recycled materials in our bags and sock packaging:
  • Keeps 86 tons of paper out of landfills
  • Saves 2,000 mature trees
  • Saves 14,000 gallons of water!

You can help too! We always try to make sure our packaging can be recycled, so you can toss it in your recycling bin with pride.

• While many adhesive bands are not recyclable, we use an exclusive eco-friendly adhesive that allows our package bands to be 100% recyclable
