Ann & I were High school best friends. She was  Maid of Honor at our wedding and God-mother to our son. Somehow, life got in the way of our friendship. With Family responsibilities, work, childrearing, we grew apart. When Middle Age stealthily crept up on us, we reconnected, realizing that real friends are too valuable  a treasure to ignore. Now "suddenly" we find ourselves in our "golden" years. Ann's conquered cancer 3 times , living  life to the fullest. All of the "old-age" maladies are knocking on our doors, but I refuse to open that door wide enough to let them take over. Our husbands, Ann & I are learning to live, love, laugh and have fun together. Nonsense?  Nah!

There once were two princesses who were best friends. Princess Erina and Princess Raelle.  They ruled over the land as well as the hearts of many in the land.  They said they would be best friends forever through good days and bad days.  For the longest time they had only good days together.  Constantly laughing and having a ball.  Others thought it was unusual and thought them lucky to have such a friendship.  But soon their came a message from the evil dark corner of Juno.  In the message was a spell that made the princesses despise one another.  slowly the spell took over their lives and they began to say hurtful things to each other, they were insensitive to each other, and even fought over princes in the land! 
Finally the King of all the lands had to intervene.  He called upon his Son, Prince Jesuph to go to the princesses and break the curse.  So Prince Jesuph went to them and took their hands and placed them over each others hearts and immediately the princesses could see all the hurt they had caused each other. They said sorry and began their friendship anew.  Later that year Princess Raelle got married to a charming prince who happened to be Princess Erina's neighbor and friend.  Princess Erina was so happy for her friends and began to dream of the prince who would someday be hers. 

My story begins over 35 years ago when 3 young women in their 20's began working together.  Two were married, one was no longer. :) Over the years we have weathered divorces and remarriages, children born, children growing up, children married. Two of us moved away but our bond grew even stronger. We became the Ya-Ya's and every year on the first weekend of December we meet in Chicago for a shopping trip, stay up all night, talk about our friendship and our families. We sometimes have additional trips during the year if one of us in need of a hug. :) So I am very lucky as I have two "best" friends!

I spent a year living overseas in Jerusalem - while it was an amazing year of study, friendship and travel - it was also quite challenging.  Day to day living was complicated by language barriers, anxiety was heightened by the general situation of living in the Middle East, my bed even caught on fire.  So many times throughout the year, all I longed for was an hour, even a moment of HOME.

My little sister booked a flight to visit and I secretly booked my mom on the same flight - so they would meet up in the airport on their way to Israel.  This photo captures our first time together in more than 9 months - in front of what is considered by many to be the holiest place in the Jewish religion - the Western Wall.

Though a land of both complication and sweetness wrapped delicately together - sharing Israel with my mom and sister, my two closest friends, was NO NONSENSE and unforgettable! 

My best friend Jacky and I met online 3 years ago.  We had an instant connection and talked all the time, first online, then by phone and text. We share good times, fun times as well as giving each other love and support through physical pain, feelings of self doubt and loss of those we hold dear. We talk now daily, and have met up twice in the past two years.  We will be together again in February 2009, as I travel from Florida to Texas to visit with her and her family. The enclosed photo is from our last face to face get together in March of 2008.  She is truly the sister I never had and I love her dearly.  I know I can tell her anything and she can do the same with me.  Between we too best friends the only nonsense is that which we choose to create  "just because"!

My friend,Cristy and I have been friends since we were three.Since then we have became closer and closer. Nothing or nobody can describe our friendship the way we can. Everytime we hang out were always laughing and making jokes. I can tell her anything becuase i know she won't critize me and she know if she tells me something i will do the same. We know we can always count on each other no matter what. And I don'w want to sound all vague but we're almost like sisters. We both gone through so much in our lifes and when ever we feel done we just talk to each other in order to feel better. She's the bestest friend someone can have and i wouldn't change my friend for anyone else. We share a sister and friend bond that makes our lifes even better.

Andrea and I have been through everything together!  We've seen each other through boyfriends, jobs, we've been in each others weddings, been in the room when our children were born, supporting each other.  We are the sisters that we never had but always wanted.  The attached picture is our recent trip to Chicago...we laughed we cried, we played in the rain.  Some might think us silly...but we're more than that; we're silly best friends!

I absolutely adore my best friend, Megan. We are now both 20 (finally, since her birthday is 7 months after mine!), and have been best friends since first grade. It worked out well because our moms turned out to be best friends too! I consider her mother my second mom, and vice versa. We tell each other everything, and don't have any secrets. She is one of the only people I can talk to about the important things that happen in my life and get a respectable answer. Megan will give me advice and her honest opinion on anything! And I would always do the same for her. We've been through the ups and downs, and we know what they're all about. I've helped her through her bad times, and she's helped me through mine. I would do ANYTHING for her if she needed me to...sell the shirt off my back, walk through fire, swim across the farthest ocean...anything! I love her to death and hopefully she loves me to death too! =) I don't know what I would do without her...hopefully when we eventually (but not too soon!) get old, we'll be chasing each other around the nursing home in our hot pink electric wheelchairs!

I have a sister named Linnea.  She is not only my sister but is also my best friend.  When ever I am having a bad day I can call her and she will lift my spirits with loving support and kind words.  She always expresses her love and support.  I count on her as a sister and as a friend.  I will be sharing my socks with her as a thank you for her friendship.

    I have fought cancer 4 times ( Breast twice, cervicle once and parathyroid cancer once.)  It has always been my drean to go on a trip to New York.  I would love to spend this adventure with my dear sister.

Its true that I only met jess months ago but she has made such a difference in my life. She's always there for me when I need her and I'm there for her when she needs me. She is currently going through a rough time. She has epilepsy and her mother has a blood disorder. She is really stressed out all the time and I'm always here for her trying to make things better. She is the best friend a girl could ever have.
